What is the difference between Carbon and Ceramic window tint?
The biggest difference comes down to heat rejection and overall performance. Aesthetically, the films look nearly identical.
Ceramic tint is made with nano ceramic particles that block a high percentage of infrared heat and UV rays. Ceramic window film is currently the highest performing tint on the market that comes with a higher price tag, but the benefits are worth it. The main benefit for having ceramic window film is how much less you feel the sun coming in through the windows while you drive. If you’re looking for premium heat rejection, crystal clear visibility, and long-term performance, ceramic tint is the way to go.
Carbon tint offers privacy and some heat reduction but doesn’t block nearly as much infrared heat. Carbon window tint is usually a more budget friendly option for people who prefer privacy and aesthetics over performance.
What is a lifetime warranty and what does it cover?
Our lifetime warranty covers against bubbling, delamination, and fading for the life of the film. The lifetime warranty does not cover scratches or damages to the film caused by external factors.
Is your tint the same as "factory tinted" glass?
Factory window tint isn't actually tint at all. It involves a pigment that’s dyed into the glass during the manufacturing process, which doesn’t have the same ability to reduce UV radiation or heat the same way window film can. Our window film adheres to the surface of the glass, providing you with benefits such as UV protection, advanced heat reduction and glare reduction.
How do I clean tinted windows?
It is best to avoid any type of window cleaner that has ammonia in it because ammonia can damage the film over time. You'll want to use window cleaners that say either "tint safe" or "ammonia free". You can even use distilled water. Whichever ammonia free cleaner you decide to go with, using a microfiber or waffle weave towel will yield the best results. Using a paper towel can result in unwanted streaks.
How long should I keep my windows rolled up after getting my windows tinted?
We usually recommend keeping your windows rolled up for 3 days after getting your windows tinted. This way the adhesive on the film has time to settle onto the glass.
I just got my windows tinted and am seeing a ton of bubbles. What is happening?
That is more than likely something we call blistering, which is different than bubbling. Bubbles typically have air pockets, where blisters typically have fluid pockets. In order to install the film, we use slip solution on the film and the window. After installation, and even though we squeegee out most of the water, there can still be water in between the film and the window that needs to evaporate. It can take around 7 days for the blistering to clear up but in some cases may take a little longer. It is normal and nothing to worry about.
